Using the screener you will be able to locate companies based on:
- The country the company resides
- It's geographical area
- It's industry group
- It's grade and scores by category
- The balances of its financial statement accounts
- Other factors (number of employees, gross and net margins, ...)
Use case 1
Suppose you simply want to know all the companies with a gmt-score than 8. The desired condition would be:
By clicking on the ? button in the FACTOR column you can enter gmt-score (the desired factor in this case). In the OP. column (for operation) we press the second ? and introduce a >, and in the column VALUE we introduce an 8.
If we press ENTER when entering 8, or click on the ADD button, we will add this condition and the screener will show us the companies found: all those that currently have gmt-score greater than 8.
Below the conditions is the name and rating of the 981 companies found. Clicking on each name will show us all the information related to that company.
This information will open in a new tab of your browser, so that you do not lose the current status of your screener.
Use case 2
Suppose that you also want these companies to be distributing a high dividend yield, that they are also growing at a sizeble rate, and that they should be of small or medium size (because we assume that these companies has greater margin for growth). The conditions in this case would be:
The three scores are available in the FACTOR column menu under the NOTES heading.
After introducing these four conditions you will see how the screener finds 327 companies that currently meet the four conditions.
The TOTAL column shows the number of companies that meet the condition of that row. The column ACC (accumulated) shows the companies that satisfy all the conditions of that row and all those before it.
Use case 3
Suppose we've decided that we don't care whether or not the company pays any dividend. To remove the dividend condition just click on the button DEL next to the condition.
Once pressed the screener will recalculate the conditions and will show the companies that satisfy the three remaining conditions (432 in our example).
